What the flag of Jordan means
The flag is based on the flag of the Arab Revolt of 1916. Its black, white and green bands stand for the Abbasid, Umayyad and Fatimid caliphates, and the red triangle for the Hashemite dynasty. The seven points of the star stand for the seven verses of the first sura of the Quran.
